8/17 Apalachee Invitational

The Alpharetta XC Raiders kicked off their 2024 racing season at the Apalachee Invitational this past Saturday, August 17th. 

Ahad Sayani (Jr) led the Varsity Boy's medaling 10th with a new personal record (PR) of 17:02.77, and he was followed by a pack coming through the finish line in the low 18's. Lidia Lo Faro (Jr) took the Varsity Girl's race over after the first mile and never looked back. She took home 1st place, broke the women's course record, and raced her way into the 18's for the first time with a time of 18:50.62 (PR). Amalia Brady (Jr) joined her teammate on the podium medaling 8th smashing her Freshman season PR with 20:14.09. 

      The Varsity Boy's placed 5th out of 19 teams, Varsity Girl's placed 4th out of 17 teams, JV Boy's placed 3rd, and the JV Girl's placed 4th. Overall, the XC Raiders had many successes and positive outcomes, and they found a starting point with their racing strategies. The XC Raiders race next at the AT&T Starr's Mill Invitational on Saturday, August 31st.
