9/14 North GA Invite

The XC Raiders had the opportunity to race on a college course at the North GA Invite on UNG-Gainesville campus this past weekend, and the energy of the meet reflected in how the Alpharetta Raiders raced! The XC Raiders had many successful outcomes–both JV teams podiumed 1st place.

For the women JV XC Raiders, Sarah Lopez (Sr) raced her way to 2nd with 22:07. She was followed by teammates—Demi Harrison (Fr) 6th place, Uma Sapute (So), Eleanor Franchak (Jr)—who also medaled in the top 10 out of 110 runners. The women JV Raiders have taken their scoring (top 5 runners) average time from 25:03, 1st race of 2024, to an average of 22:59.

For the men JV XC Raiders, Joey Culotta (Jr) raced his way to 7th place with 18:01. He was followed by teammates–Carter Wallunas (Fr) and Ben Allande Morel (Jr)—who also medaled in the top 10 out of 194 runners. The men JV Raiders have reduced their scoring average time from 19:11 to 18:38 this season.

Overall, Saturday’s meet was a positive energy and strategic, patient racing that led the JV XC Raiders to have such successful outcomes. The Alpharetta HS Cross Country team will race again on Saturday, September 21st, at the Wingfoot XC Classic.
